A member of the public was sent a document, purporting to be an agreement for the client to instruct an individual called "Jose Manuel Rodrigeuz", claiming to be a "Lawyer" from "Royds Withy King".
The document purports to be an agreement to engage the service of the "Lawyer", who provides a Spanish contact number, to pursue a compensation claim in return for an agreed fee. The SRA has been informed that the matter related to a timeshare matter.
The SRA understands the recipient of the document was requested to make a payment at a bank for the sum of 8,000 euros to a bank account supposedly in the name of "Royds Withy King SL".
The document seen by the SRA provides a telephone number of "0034 951 121 863" and an email address of "inforoydswithyking@gmail.com".
The document misuses the name of a genuine firm of solicitors.
The SRA does not authorise or regulate a solicitor or foreign lawyer called "Jose Manuel Rodrigeuz".
Any business or transactions through "Jose Manuel Rodrigeuz" or through the contact details of "inforoydswithyking@gmail.com" or "0034 951 121 863" are not undertaken by a solicitor’s practice or an individual authorised or regulated by the SRA.
